Safety is at the very top of Covestro’s list of priorities, both for its own activities as well as for those of its external partners. Which is why Covestro created its Safety Award NRW as a means to recognise its contractors’ high levels of safety management – a highly coveted award that was recently presented to BUCHEN UmweltService. This safety prize has some very exacting requirements. Covestro’s partner firms only make it onto the shortlist if they have delivered extraordinary services at its Leverkusen, Dormagen and/or Krefeld-Uerdingen production plants. BUCHEN was able to demonstrate this to Covestro in two different ways: firstly, with its excellent accident statistics and, secondly, with the impressive results it achieved during Covestro’s unannounced safety inspections.
Being a long-standing partner of this manufacturer of high-tech materials, BUCHEN works in all three Covestro plants in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Its team of around 70 employees primarily carry out complex cleaning tasks using high pressure jetting technology. The highest possible health and safety standards are central to BUCHEN’s company philosophy and are at the very heart of all of its activities.
Due to the Covid pandemic, the award was handed over to BUCHEN in the presence of just a few people rather than – as is normally the case – during the company’s national “Covestro Safety Day”.
