XERVON recently celebrated a new milestone: 60 years of scaffolding business in its East Region. Around 120 guests from the worlds of business and politics were invited to its branch in Eisenhüttenstadt to join in the official celebrations. Together, they took a look back at the company’s history and at its future as well. In the words of Klaus Thiele, managing director of XERVON GmbH, “The future begins right now and we all have a role to play. So let’s get on with it!”
Pierre Jacobs, chairman of the board of directors of ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt GmbH, and Dr Thomas Porsche, head of maintenance at LEAG AG, both congratulated the company as did Frank Balzer, Mayor of Eisenhüttenstadt. “Tradition not only comprises looking back at what was but also taking a look ahead at what is to come. And XERVON’s prospects are looking very good,” he said during his speech.
Peter Zubrod, manager of the north east region at XERVON’s scaffolding division, underlined the company’s future-oriented strategy and its determination to continue to give the process industry the exact support it needs. With the industry’s requirements and framework conditions changing and growing all the time, advances will have to continue to be made in the area of work safety – something that will play an important role in the future. At the same time, qualified employees will be needed, as they are today, to ensure quality standards are met as well as to drive forward scaffolding engineering. The mayor is certain of one thing: Eisenhüttenstadt needs such commitment – especially in the areas in which XERVON leads the market, namely work safety and innovations.
The event was rounded off with a display of the different types of scaffolding used over the years – with some of the exhibits provided by the scaffold manufacturer, Layher. The company not only invited its present employees to the celebrations but also those who had retired as they have all played an important role in making the business the success it is today.
Impressive projects and some very well-known clients: XERVON’s East Region has mastered many complex scaffolding tasks over the last 60 years. One even made it into the Guinness Book of Records; others bear witness to both major and minor events of the past.
